Gee, I wonder who will win this race........

Prepare for more crap in 3D, this time with sharks

Ok, I had no problem with them using 3D for nubile teenagers being gobbled up by piranhas. Of course once Hollywood starts, they won't stop until over saturation. Soooooo...there's this now:
David Ellis, who directed "Snakes on a Plane" and two installments of the "Final Destination" movies, and producer Mike Fleiss are assembling their cast for the horror pic "Shark Night 3-D." This according to heatvision.hollywoodreporter.com
Who knows, if they keep going maybe we'll see 'Red Ants 3D:Burning Sensation."

Dwight from the office starring the the next 'loser guy becomes lame superhero' movie.

Pics below are from upcoming writer/director James Gunn's action-comedy Super, starring Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page and Liv Tyler. Don't get me wrong, i loved kick-Ass, but Woody Harrelson did the movie Deffendor.....which, while being crap, no one saw. So why are they churning these out? Oh yeah, it's hollywood. We have to see 6 versions of the same movie within a certain time span before moving on the the next fad.....and then doing it again in ten years. And Rainn Wilson? Love him as Dwight Schrute, but if you've seen 'The Rocker', i think we know that no ones wants to see him carrying a movie. Unless its Dwight Schrute the motion picture.

So, NBC attempts a another super hero series

Below is the trailer for NBC's new upcoming series 'The Cape'. Ok, NBC gave it a shot before with 'Heroes' which had one successful season. After season one, it got muddled in characters flip flopping from good to bad and back again, government agencies, serial killers and so on...But with the cape it appears they're just going with a straight forward masked crusader story. Keep it simple right? Well, the trailer does seem pretty simplistic. Not necessarily a bad thing, but will it be able to keep it on the serious and straight forward and not slip into campy cheesiness?

After dominating the home video rental business for more than a decade and struggling to survive in recent years against upstarts Netflix and Redbox, Blockbuster Inc. is preparing to file for bankruptcy next month.
Ahhh Blockbuster. I remember the old days of going in and loading up on half a dozen movies at a time. Now of course I obtain them in other ways. Nothing illegal I swear (PS I love you internet). Click the link below for the full story from The L.A Times

Cami Secret Parody (Boob Apron)

Below is the actual video for the commercial for Cami Secret. Apparently it's a product designed to cover a woman's cleavage. As often is the case of the interweb it has been dubbed over in an offensive and humorous manner. Introducing the Boob Apron. You're welcome.

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Trailer looks lke a good tv version of Marvel characters, despite it having an 80's movie montage soundtrack.

M-m-Max Headroom On DVD

Max Headroom, one of the best 80's tv series (despite only lasting 14 episodes) finally gets an official DVD release.  Max had been used as both talk show host (Cinemax) and Coca-Cola spokes person, but it was the ABC cult series that solidified him as a pop culture ICON of the 80's. The DVD set also includes the original British TV movie that inspired the series. The series centered around a future world where all of the poor to middle class were addicted to television like it was crack. Matt Frewer played both Edison Carter, who would stop at nothing to expose the evil television/government/marketing companies using television for they're own gain, and his alter ego with a big mouth Max Headroom. Sci-fi with socio-political relevance and humor. Let the nerdgasm begin.

Finally, a supernatural/horror series not designed to appeal to teenage girls.
