2nd , full length Green Lantern trailer........

now on DVD:Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil

The Mighty "Thor" hits the big screen.

Director by Kenneth Branagh, starring Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman.

I was somewhat disappointed when i heard the plot of Thor had him cast out of Asgard and cursed to live amongst the humans on earth with none of his godly powers.
After having seen it.....yeah, still somewhat disappointed.
Thor is a colorful, special effects driven movie, as most summer and Marvel comic based films seem to be. The characters in the film are nothing more than caricatures. No real depth, nothing deep or important is said or done. There's a plot involving Ice Giants and a war that raged between them and Asgard that ended many years ago. There's another subplot involving Thor's brother Loki and his connection to the ice giants. Loki, if you know anything about the mythology of Thor, becomes his arch nemesis. But in the lagging, drawn out film, he takes forever to manifest into the vilain he is to be. By then, the interest has been lost. Chris Hemsworth does an adequate Job as the blow hard, Arrogant god of Thunder. Anthony Hopkins plays his usual superior father role, and Natalie Portman downgrades to play 'the girl' of the tale.
All in all it's an entertaining popcorn flick. But nothing of substance. We have to wait til the end of the film for him to regain his godly powers and his hammer before he kicks ass in the film's finale. By that point, its seen coming 2hrs earlier.
If you're a marvel fan, it's worth seeing so you can pick it apart. If you're not, it's worth seeing for some eye candy time killing. But wait for the DVD rental.

director, and fan of slo-mo, Zack Snyder chosen to direct the next Superman film

from iwatchstuff.com:
Christopher Nolan's list of guys who could direct Superman--of which Ben Affleck was certainly not a part of--is finally down to one name, and it's the name of the one who uses all the slow-mo. It's been confirmed that Zack Snyder will be bringing all his years of green-screen, comic book-adapting experience from 300 and Watchmen to the Man of Steel, directing under the tutelage of Nolan from a script by David Goyer.

Chris Nolan Looks For 'Superman' Director

According to Deadline, the list of possible directors for the Superman reboot/remake are the following: Tony Scott (maker of all recent runaway train films), Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, the Let the Right One In remake), Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles, that Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake), Moon's Duncan Jones, and Watchmen/300/Sucker Punch director and lover of slo-mo Zack Snyder.
Not impressed.

Crazy German Hotel Offers High-Class Update of Race Car Bed

From asylum.com: The four-star V8 Hotel in Stuttgart, Germany, just added a new wrinkle to the age-old "Can you get laid if you sleep in a race car bed?"-debate. The hotel is built inside the old Boeblingen Airport and offers guests the option to sleep inside a '70s Cadillac drive-in cinema, a Mercedes-Benz car wash or a Morris Minor garage

The V8 features 34 rooms, 10 with their own unique interior. The hotel also has a suite built on three levels within the building's former control tower. Or, for $485 a night, visitors can stay in the 1,300-square-foot Zeppelin Suite featuring a sauna and views over the old airport grounds.

Keep reading for more shots of some of the other kinds of sweet car beds the V8 hotel has to offer.

Liam Neeson......You sank my Battleship. Seriously?

Ok, Liam Neeson as a badass in 'Taken' i enjoyed. Him playing Zeus in the mediocre 'Clash of the Titans' was it's only high point. I even said 'sure, why not' when he lead the "A-Team" in it's over the top action sequences of a film. But now, the academy award winning actor for "Schlindler's List" is appearing in.......Battleship the movie. Yes, the board game, Battleship. So, he's apparently going the Nicolas Cage route who, after winning the Academy award for Leaving Las Vegas, started taking paychecks for any piece of schlock that comes his way. Maybe to two of them can join forces and star in "Connect Four- the movie.....this time it's personal"
PS the film also stars Rihanna, because of course that makes complete sense.
According to fusedfilm.com
Liam Neeson will join Taylor Kitsch, Rhianna, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker and others in the upcoming action flick, Battleship, directed by Peter Berg, based on the popular board game from Hasbro.
The movie revolves around a Naval fleet that must protect the Earth from extraterrestrial invaders.

Robots invade the work place. ROBOT APOCALYPSE CLOSING IN!

(CNN) -- When Trevor Blackwell, CEO of a company called Anybots, wants to know what his employees are up to, he sends a robot to their cubicles.
The 5-foot-6, 35-pound robot contains a video camera, a still camera and a microphone. From a laptop, Blackwell can see everything the robot sees. He hears what the robot hears. And, when he talks, the robot projects his voice.

A cubicle visiting robot. I wouldn't mind so much, as long as he brought me coffee and gave me robot massages. What? That is so the best use of robot technology. Click the link below from cnn.com to see the impending metal uprising continue.

The course is called EME2040: 21st Century Skills in StarCraft, and it will be open to students with at least a “basic knowledge of and experience playing StarCraft". Hit the link below for more on this. Now if you'll excuse me, i have a 'tv watching skills' class to attend.
